Paare & Familien
gemeinsam neue Perspektiven gewinnen
Relationships are built on communication, mutual understanding and a willingness to keep connecting with one another. Yet everyday life can make these things difficult. Professional commitments, family responsibilities, different expectations and recurring disagreements can gradually create distance, even between people who spend a great deal of time together.
A sail & soul sailing retreat offers couples and families the opportunity to step away from their usual routines and make time for what matters: their relationships and the way they live together. On board a sailing yacht, shared experiences, psychologically grounded coaching and everyday life at sea come together in a unique setting.
Many relationships develop recurring patterns of communication and behaviour. Misunderstandings arise, individual needs are not always recognised and disagreements often revolve around the same issues.
Sometimes, however, there is no specific conflict to resolve. Couples may simply want to invest more consciously in their relationship, families may wish to reconnect through shared experiences, or everyone involved may want to reflect on changes in their lives.
Possible areas of focus include:
Life on a sailing yacht offers a different environment from everyday life. Familiar routines and distractions recede into the background. Instead, participants spend time together, organise everyday activities on board and experience an environment that can encourage new conversations and perspectives.
Living together in a relatively confined space requires communication, consideration and cooperation. Decisions are made together, tasks are shared and individual needs have to be taken into account. These everyday situations can provide valuable opportunities to reflect on communication and relationship dynamics.
Coaching sessions build on these experiences and connect them with guided reflection and structured conversations.
The coaching is shaped around the participants' individual concerns and objectives. Depending on the situation, sessions may include guided conversations, structured reflection exercises, resource-oriented approaches and practical communication exercises.
The aim is not to provide ready-made solutions or to resolve every disagreement within a few days. Instead, the focus is on developing new perspectives, becoming more aware of established patterns and identifying constructive ways of relating to one another.
Nicole Haubrock contributes her psychological expertise and professional background in cognitive behavioural therapy to the coaching concept. Mark Langer complements this approach with many years of maritime experience and professional responsibility for the yacht.
This retreat is intended for couples and families who wish to invest time in their relationships and develop a more conscious understanding of how they interact with one another.
Participants should be willing to engage in shared experiences, personal reflection and life on board within a small group.
The retreat is not couples or family psychotherapy and does not replace appropriate psychological or medical treatment. In cases of serious or acute relationship crises, it is important to establish in advance whether a coaching retreat is an appropriate format.
A sailing retreat can provide a special setting in which to reconnect with yourself and with the people around you. Time together on the water offers distance from familiar routines and creates opportunities for meaningful conversations.
sail & soul combines psychologically grounded coaching with the shared experience of life on a sailing yacht. The focus is not on perfect relationships, but on the willingness to reflect on how we relate to one another.
